Exterior Modification Requests
As mentioned on the About Us page, our mission is to protect and enhance all homeowners investments made when you purchased a home in our association. When you plan to change any exterior items of your home (e.g., add a fence, expand a patio, remove a tree, paint a garage door), the Deed of Restrictions requires you to obtain approval from either the Developer (Cherry Blossom Development Company) or the Cherry Blossom Village Homeowners Association. This approval is to make sure that the exterior modifications are consistent with what is already on your home and in the neighborhood.
If exterior modifications are made without submission and approval of an application, the homeowner is subject to fines.
Process
All requests must be in writing and include details as to what is going to be done (ensure exterior finishes are detailed).
Submissions can be made via the form below (or by completing the Exterior Modification Request Application and emailing it to exteriormods@cbvhoa.org).
The Board (or relevant committee) will review your plans on an individual basis and make comments/recommendations that will be forwarded to the Developer or their agent for final approval. Exterior modification requests that do not conform to the Deed of Restrictions will not be approved.
Your request will be processed as quickly as possible by the relevant parties. The Board of Directors meets quarterly, but will review requests and make determinations online outside of scheduled meetings in order avoid needlessly delaying homeowners’ intended plans.
Additional Notes
If approval is not obtained the owner will be fined.
Applications should include diagrams showing the location of the proposed exterior modification (sample property easement diagram).
Approval to proceed with your construction does not waive the permitting requirements for Scott County and/or the City of Georgetown. Please have your builder and/or contractor contact the Permitting Office to obtain the necessary permits. Construction may not proceed until the Exterior Modification has been approved by the HOA and the local government has issued a permit.
Interior changes do not require approval from the HOA.
